WHO-CC International Training Centre

The WHO-CC has established an international training centre as part of the University of Wales Institute Cardiffs International Training Centre [external link]. It is a collaboration between the HPA, UWIC, Public Health Wales (www.publichealthwales.wales.nhs.uk) and Cardiff University (www.Cardiff.ac.uk)

The training centre's remit is to enhance planning and preparedness for major chemical incidents and will concentrate on the following key areas:

  • Hazard Identification
  • Risk assessment
  • Risk prioritisation
  • Risk mitigation
  • Emergency planning and preparedness
  • Response
  • Recovery

Materials will be presented through a combination of presentation, exercises, case studies and scenarios and disseminated through workshops, symposia, conferences and e-learning courses. This will be updated in due course.
