Streptococcus zooepidemicus

Streptococcus zooepidemicus is a Lancefield group C streptococcus that is commonly found in animals and which can cause zoonotic (acquired from animals) disease in humans.

The organism is found widely in veterinary practice, as it infects a wide variety of animals including horses and cattle.
